Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens — Online

Overview

American Heart Association training for workers and others who may encounter blood or blood-containing materials. Learn to recognize exposure risks, use protective measures, and respond appropriately to contact with blood or blood-containing materials.

Course Completion

This course can be completed online without a hands-on skills test. Successful completion provides a completion certificate, not a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or basic life support (BLS) Provider eCard. This course does not provide CPR or BLS certification.

Employer-specific training is also required for OSHA compliance.

Online Course Access

After purchasing an online course, your American Heart Association course access link and instructions will be emailed within 24 hours of purchase. Access is not immediate at checkout. Complete the self-paced coursework through the AHA learning platform.

Tuition and Inclusions

$50 per student. Includes AHA Bloodborne Pathogens online course access. Successful completion provides a completion certificate. No hands-on skills assessment is required. This course does not provide CPR or BLS certification.

Course Books and Learning Materials

AHA lists the online course itself as the student material for Bloodborne Pathogens Online; a separate classroom workbook is not listed for this format. The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Student Workbook is required for a classroom-based version, if selected.
