This 16-hour California Non-Resident CCW Training Course is designed to provide thorough instruction on carrying a concealed weapon as a non-resident of California. The course covers legal responsibilities, firearms safety, and practical shooting skills necessary for obtaining a non-resident CCW permit in California

Our online CCW course allows you to:
Start the course at your convenience, Pause at any time, Resume exactly where you left off, and Complete the training on your schedule

Your progress is automatically saved, allowing you to move through the material at a pace that fits your professional and personal commitments. This flexible format is ideal for working professionals, parents, and individuals with demanding schedules.

Upon successful completion of the online academic portion, students must complete a live-fire shooting qualification to finalize certification.

Live fire qualification Location:

This is an online, self-paced course. Upon completion, you'll need to perform the In-Person shooting qualifications in the presence of a certified Range Master inf your home state or with Millennia Defense when visiting the state of CA. 

§  CA Non residents (initial and renewal) will need to complete a shooting qualification       

§  Can be completed when visiting CA

§  Can be completed in your home state in the presence of a NRA certified shooting instructor

§  Qualification sheet can then be uploaded

Live fire qualification Course of fire (with each qualifying pistol):

• 6 rounds from 7 yards
• 6 rounds from 10 yards
• 6 rounds from 15 yards

Course Overview
The Millennia Defense Initial 16-Hour CCW Certification Course is designed to meet and exceed the requirements set forth by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the State of California for applicants seeking a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permit.

Effective January 1, 2024, California law requires a 16-hour training course for initial CCW applicants. This comprehensive program fulfills and exceeds those state and county mandates while delivering practical, real-world instruction rooted in responsibility, safety, and lawful concealed carry.

Course Breakdown
Duration: 16 Hours (Online Instruction + Range Time)

Format: Online Course + In-Person Shooting Qualification

Maximum Firearms Allowed on CCW: 6

Students must demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively draw from concealment, engage targets from multiple distances, and achieve a minimum passing score of 80%. Safe firearm handling and manipulation will be assessed throughout the qualification.
