HeartCode® BLS — Online Coursework & In-Person Skills
Overview
HeartCode BLS is the online learning portion of the American Heart Association (AHA) blended basic life support (BLS) course for healthcare professionals, healthcare students, and trained first responders.
What You Will Learn
Adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, ventilation skills, and single-rescuer and team response. BLS focuses on healthcare-level resuscitation and does not include comprehensive first aid.
HeartCode is a learning format, not a separate certification level. Successful completion of the online and required hands-on components leads to a BLS Provider eCard.
Online Course Access
After purchasing an online course, your American Heart Association course access link and instructions will be emailed within 24 hours of purchase. Access is not immediate at checkout. Complete the self-paced coursework through the AHA learning platform.
Skills Session and Course Completion
Online coursework alone does not complete certification requirements. After finishing the online portion, please email training@millenniadefense.com to schedule your in-person skills assessment in Upland, CA. Successful completion of all applicable course and skills requirements is required to receive the AHA course completion eCard.
Tuition and Inclusions
$120 per student. Includes AHA online course access, the required in-person skills session with Millennia Defense, and the applicable completion card after successful completion. No separate assessment fee applies to this complete package.
Schedule Your Skills Assessment
After completing the online portion of your blended-learning course, please email training@millenniadefense.com to schedule your in-person skills assessment. Skills assessments will be held in Upland, CA.
Course Books and Learning Materials
HeartCode BLS provides the online learning materials for this pathway. AHA lists HeartCode BLS, rather than a separately purchased BLS Provider Manual, as the blended-learning course material. Follow the course access instructions for the reference resources. Any additional materials required by Millennia Defense will be identified in your registration instructions; do not purchase a duplicate online course.
Already Completed the AHA Online Course?
Millennia Defense also hosts hands-on skills sessions for students who have completed the corresponding AHA online coursework. Bring your online course completion certificate. Email training@millenniadefense.com to schedule your session in Upland, CA. Standalone skills-session tuition is separate from the complete blended package.
