K9 Stop the Bleed and First Aid

Overview

The K9 Bleeding Control & First Aid Course provides hands-on training for recognizing and responding to life-threatening emergencies involving dogs. Students will practice immediate care techniques that can support an injured dog until veterinary treatment is available.

This course is open to all students and is not restricted to law-enforcement K9 handlers. It is appropriate for dog owners, trainers, working-dog handlers, first responders, security personnel, and anyone responsible for the care of a dog.

What You Will Learn

• Recognize life-threatening bleeding and signs of shock

• Control severe bleeding using direct pressure, wound packing, hemostatic dressings, and pressure bandaging

• Respond to canine breathing emergencies

• Perform canine CPR

• Safely handle and move an injured dog

• Prepare an injured dog for rapid veterinary transport

Why K9 Emergency Training Matters

Dogs can experience severe bleeding, breathing emergencies, shock, and other traumatic injuries at home, during travel, at work, or while training. The first few minutes after an injury can be critical.

This course gives students practical skills for providing immediate assistance, making informed decisions, and preparing an injured dog for professional veterinary care. Hands-on practice helps students build the confidence needed to respond safely during a canine emergency.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled course to receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the course are nonrefundable.
